Geoffrey K. Pullum:
Posts on Language Log (newest at the top)

This page is mainly for my own use in tracking down things I have recently said in posts on the new series of Language Log posts at http://languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu/nll. (For Language Log Classic, the old series, see this page.) Here's a tip for eager readers: don't print off my posts or quote them verbatim or quibble with them on your blog or email them to friends until they've been up for at least a day or two. I often edit, embellish, or expand what I post. Eventually I leave things alone to face the judgment of cyberhistory, but I never quite know what I've said or how it looks until I see it up on the site, so I frequently tinker, tamper, dicker, fiddle, or mess with what I've written during the first 36 hours or so. Wait awhile and reload before quoting, if you can bear the suspense. —GKP
